Republicans, Democrats, and Independent voters alike can agree that the best answer to Question One on November 3rd, 2020 is YES. Voters will choose whether to allow politicians to continue to draw districts under the cloak of darkness in smoke-filled rooms, or to create a bipartisan redistricting commission which must work under the sunlight of transparency.
Craig County is an example of how the current process is flawed. While we appreciate the great work of Senator Steve Newman in Richmond, the fact that we are represented by a Senator from Lynchburg is astounding! Senator Newman could quicker travel to Harrisonburg than New Castle – and he’d pass the homes of several other Senators on his way here.
It is time to end partisan gerrymandering in Virginia and to bring transparency into the process. Voting YES on Question One indicates that you believe that voters should choose politicians and not the other way around. Click Here for More Information.
