Sheriff Craddock has lived in and spent more than 22 years protecting and serving the citizens of Craig County as both a Virginia State Trooper and as our Sheriff. Craddock has a proven record of upholding the law and continues to serve with honesty, fairness, and integrity.
Craddock is endorsed by numerous community leaders and has done much to advance the Sheriff’s Office in his first term. He has strengthened law enforcement coverage and expanded patrols of outlying areas. The Sheriff’s Office now has modernized 911 software, improving the overall effectiveness of dispatchers and deputies in responding to the needs of citizens.
One of the most important qualities of a good Sheriff is their ability to budget wisely and advocate for the needs of the department. Deputy and dispatcher salaries have been increased, safety cages have been added to vehicles along with gun mounts, patrol cars have been replaced with newer models, service weapons have been updated, and each deputy now carries life saving tourniquets and two doses of Narcan for cases of opioid overdose. All of these improvements have been accomplished without going over budget!
While violent crime and drug abuse issues continue to creep into our neck of the woods, we need a competent Sheriff who is able and ready to take on modern challenges. Sheriff Craddock has proven his capabilities in his first term, and I hope you’ll join me in voting to re-elect him on November 5th!
